ST PIERRE UNSURE ON RETURN

The Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC made announcements for three events in Canada in 2012, one each in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary, marking its debut as a UFC stage but the most exciting news for Canadian fans is the possible return of their favorite Mixed Martial Artist and their most loved athlete Georges St Pierre to the eight sided ring come the 17^th of November. St Pierre made an appearance via satellite at the event during the announcement of the program and the UFC Welterweight Champion himself updated fans about his well being and his rehabilitation process.

Speaking in the event from California where he is in rehabilitation, St Pierre stated that his doctors are extremely happy with the progress that he has made and said that he is very much ahead of schedule. But he also added that he had no intentions of accelerating his return to the octagonal cage and thereby injure himself again, possibly a career threatening one.

Georges St Pierre has been struggling with injuries for much of the last year with a ligament strain forcing him to withdraw from the UFC 137 fight with Carlos Condit and the ACL injury sustained during the preparation for UFC 143 when he was pitted against former Strike Force Champion Nick Diaz has kept him out of the ring since December, 2011.

But St Pierre is confident that he will be able to return to the ring by the time the UFC hits the Canadian shores and when he does return, he will have to fight it out against Carlos Condit, who defeated Diaz for the Interim Championship belt of the Welterweight division. UFC President Dana White is also hopeful that their star man Georges St Pierre will be back to the ring by the time they come to his native land.
